Exterior Roughcast Painting in Duddingston
Pressure washing, protection and three spray-applied coats for a heavily textured Edinburgh exterior.

Preparing a weathered roughcast exterior
This property in Duddingston, Edinburgh had a roughcast exterior affected by years of traffic and roadside contamination. The surface was thoroughly pressure washed before painting.
Windows, doors and adjoining areas were carefully masked and protected. This was particularly important when applying paint to a heavily textured surface by spray.
Three coats across the textured finish
PAINTTEC applied three spray coats of Johnstone’s Smooth Masonry paint. The completed photograph shows consistent coverage across the roughcast façade, while the work-in-progress photograph shows the protection used during application.
The preparation and three-coat specification describe this particular project. Every exterior quotation needs its own assessment of substrate condition, access and the proposed coating system.
